My last time in Ghana... I'm happy if I see my friends and family in the Netherlands again. But I'm also really going to miss this country and the people. 

They say I've become a Ghanian. I'm no more Obroni (white person). The way I carry things on my head now. I speak quite some Twi (the local language). And I have start to like most of the local food.

It is not easy to make a business, but we are managing a small start. 

We have made another load of soap, this time blue.

Chocolate story: sweet or bitter?

This woman works on the farm since childhood. She is now in her 60's and still she walks to her farm early every working day, almost 1 hour. And 1 hour back with a bowl full harvest.

I went with her, it was quite enjoyable to me. Carrying the harvest load was not heavy as I thought, since I've developed quite some neck muscles the last 7 months. It is like a sport that takes practise. 

This farm is a good farm, if the woman is able to sell it for a fair price. But there are many farms in Ghana, that are haven't been, where child labour takes place.

What will the future bring?

The Dreams In Africa is one of the organizations that sponsor Future Stars. I am one of the board members of Dreams in Africa since about 1 year. Unfortunately the chair woman and most of the board members are going to stop at the end of this year, after 10 years of hard work. 

My dream has always been to set up something similar to The Dreams In Africa. The chair woman agreed to hand over her role to me, so that I can continue with The Dreams In Africa. There will be a new board of directors and a few changes. But The Dreams In Africa will continue. 

It will be an exiting, challenging and (hopefully) joyful journey the coming year. Let's see what the future is going to bring!
